Seating Cards or Chart
We are often asked what the difference is between an escort card and a place card. They are actually not the same thing as each one serves a different purpose.
{ E S C O R T C A R D S }
These cards direct your guests as to which table they will be seated at. They are usually placed on a table or creative display just inside or outside of the reception area and indicate which table your guest is to sit at. Today, one trend we are seeing is to do a large seating chart instead of individual cards.
{ P L A C E C A R D S }
These cards are located at the dining table and indicate exactly which seat your guest should sit in.
Escort cards can be used without place cards if you decide to just assign tables instead of the actual seat. However, place cards cannot be used without an escort card or seating chart.
